چکیده

Background 3T MRI is advantageous to CMR as it offers higher SNR and better T1 contrast. Its slow clinical adoption is partly due to the lack of robustness in SSFP cine imaging [1]. Banding artifact in SSFP caused by main field inhomogeneity is common at 3T. Wideband SSFP [2] or prescans (shimming, frequency scout, etc.) are needed to avoid/ reduce the artifact, increasing patient scan time. We propose here to use shorter TR for SSFP through slightly reduced spatial resolution to improve the sequence’s robustness and speed for cine imaging. Its ability for LV function assessment was evaluated against the standard SSFP acquisition protocol.

Fast 3D cine steady-state free precession imaging with sensitivity encoding for assessment of left ventricular function in a single breath-hold.

OBJECTIVE This study compares single breath-hold 3D cine steady-state free precession (SSFP) MRI using sensitivity encoding (SENSE) with standard 2D cine SSFP imaging in the quantitative evaluation of global left ventricular (LV) function. MATERIALS AND METHODS The LV function of 22 healthy volunteers and 15 patients was evaluated using a standard 2D SSFP sequence and a 3D SSFP sequence with ...

Evaluation of left ventricular volumes and ejection fraction using fast steady-state cine MR imaging: comparison with left ventricular angiography.

Previous studies demonstrated that magnetic resonance (MR) imaging consistently underestimated angiographic measurements of left ventricular (LV) volumes. The purpose of this study was to determine whether MR imaging with steady-state free precession acquisition (SSFP) can provide improved accuracy and reproducibility in measuring cardiac function in comparison with fast spoiled gradient echo c...

The intra-observer reproducibility of cardiovascular magnetic resonance myocardial feature tracking strain assessment is independent of field strength

BACKGROUND Cardiovascular magnetic resonance myocardial feature tracking (CMR-FT) is a promising novel method for quantification of myocardial wall mechanics from standard steady-state free precession (SSFP) images. We sought to determine whether magnetic field strength affects the intra-observer reproducibility of CMR-FT strain analysis. METHODS We studied 2 groups, each consisting of 10 hea...

Comparison of breath hold and free breathing respiratory triggered retrospectively cardiac gated cine steady-state free precession (RT-SSFP) imaging in adults

Background The cine steady-state free-precession (SSFP) is the standard sequence for left ventricular (LV) function evaluation. However, SSFP mandates uninterrupted RF excitations to maintain steady-state (SS) during suspended respiration. In patients who cannot perform breath-holds (BH), a respiratory triggered (RT) free breathing (FB) retrospectively cardiac gated cine SSFP sequence that driv...

Extended abstract Echocardiographic Evaluation of Left Ventricular Function and Geometry in Pediatric Patients with Kidney Transplantation Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is an important, leading cause of mortality and morbidity in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) as well as in renal transplant recipients. Cardiovascular complications become more important in children because of the i...
